Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the hotly anticipated sequel to Call of Duty 4, is perhaps the best first-person shooter to date. It is definitely a step up from CoD4, and that was a great game to begin with. However MW2 does present a number of issues that I would like to see addressed in the near future:

• No console - the console in CoD4 made recording matches and tweaking gameplay settings much easier. So where did it go?
  
• No dedicated servers (or server admins, for that matter). Poor matchmaking.
• No ability to vote kick/ban.
• No PunkBuster. Aimbot n00bs gone wild.
  
• No leaning. A minor gripe, but still bothersome nonetheless.
• No global stats. This was an issue in CoD4 as well.
  

Thankfully MW2's singleplayer experience exceeded expectations, but indeed, the multiplayer aspect of the game is in need of serious revision. The overarching problem is that Infinity Ward tried to release a console version of a game... On the PC. PC gamers have grown accustomed to the features that ship with other mainstream titles, like the ability to use console commands, play on custom maps, use a server browser, etc. Infinity Ward has definitely gone a step in the wrong direction by having near-identical releases for both the PC and PS3/360.

But apart from the issues presented above, MW2 is a damn enjoyable game. The title/emblem system is great, and I love (most of) the new perks, killstreaks, guns, weapon attachments, and maps.

As for my personal MP gameplay, I have prestiged once, but have no intention of doing so again. The plan is to stay at L70 and kick ass with my OP weapons.
